There’s No Business Like Snow Business!

It getting near that time of year again when we need to start looking for snow tires. This is an update on a topic that I have discussed with a number of 2sidesof49 readers. My summer tires were jut about at their end of life, a minor fender bender netted me one replacement a month or so back but I still needed to get another three. My car takes the 215/45R/17 size. Many Canadian retailers tout that they “will not be undersold” with the small print caveat that this does not apply to “Tires purchased outside of Canada” – wonder why?

I went to one of the major Canadian “will not be undersold” retailers for a quotation, three Goodyear Eagle RS-A, the quote was $659.00 “out-the-door”. I did some internet browsing and then called Dunn Tire, 3045 Sheridan Dr, Amherst, NY. I spoke with Noel, he did not have the tires in stock but could have them in by 9:00 AM the next morning. I booked an appointment, didn’t need to give him a credit card just my phone number. I arrived about 10:15 the next morning, Noel had the tires installed, disposed of my old tires and I was “out-the-door” for $485.03. Quick trip – $174.00 Savings.

So if your looking for snow tires this fall here are some Buffalo retailers to check out…
