Tool Time

I was reading today’s Toronto Star column called Expert Advice by Steve Maxwell. This is an excellent column for the DIY tool buyer. Steve reviews a number of new tools and gadgets.

I thought I would take Steve’s article to the next level with a little bit of 2sidesof49 advise… The Dewalt DCL510 Worklight Steve recommends although at a “rather steep price” is $41.52 at but only $26.99 at, the Ryobi Lithium+ battery is $99.00 at Home Depot Canada however the same $99.00 will get you a two-pack at Home Depot in the U.S. The Miracle-Gro starter Kit is $9.99 at Canadian Tire, including one bottle and $17.99 for four bottles, Lowes U.S. is $12.47 but includes two bottles and $11.97 for four bottles.

So if we take Steve’s advise and buy the whole shebang in the U.S. (keeping unit count exactly the same) we would spend $271.99 Plus taxes and environmental fees (batteries and plant food) compared to $150.43 Plus taxes in the U.S. – SAVINGS $121.56
