So as I said this was the “Road Trip” month, flew down to Phoenix (on points) so not out any $$$. Here are key points…
Golf – I’m at the point now where I rarely play in the GTA. Any decent course is between $75.00 – $125.00 a round plus another $25.00 for a cart. I’m basically spoiled. We played three courses this month; a decent local course, Coyote Lakes for $30.00 including cart and lunch, Dove Valley Ranch $32.00 including cart and range balls and Rancho Manana $40.00 including cart. We had early morning tee off times so beat the mid-day heat.
Sid needed tires for the Mazda 6 and, since we were driving back with the cargo trailer room was not a factor. Discount Tire, four Dunlop high-performance $535.00. Figured that same tires would be $1,500.00 or more in Canada.
Ended up getting a used cargo trailer for $1,900.00. Only used once for a move from California to Phoenix. They had bought at Home Depot for $2,499.00. Even if I had purchased new this is more than $1,300.00 cheaper than buying same trailer at Home Depot Canada.
Picked up some new outdoor lights, $69.00 for porch and $79.00 for over garage. Can’t buy in Canada but if shipped we are looking at close to double the cost.
Last point is hotels, we stayed at Holiday Inn Express for the four nights; all hotels off main interstate exits price ranged from $71.00 – $140.00 for three with breakfast. Can’t stay at the local Holiday Inn Express for under $150.00!
