May Summary

Certainly the main item this month was the gas prices in Toronto. We reached a high of $1.41/ltr or a little over $5.25/gal. Lots of press coverage sent the price down and it has now settled in at around the $1.30/ltr mark. Still nearly a $1.27/gal higher than Phoenix prices.

Forced to buy paint at Home Depot, $36.98/gallon including $4.20 HST and $0.81 Environmental fee. However Home Depot Canada has a $7.00 mail in rebate. With this the price matches the $31.98 at Home Depot U.S. even with the price of a $0.67 stamp. Why they don’t just offer the discount at checkout is beyond me.

Off to the U.S. next month with shopping list in hand so I’ll have a number of updates next month I’m sure.
